The South Barn

Comprising 8 aisled bays and stretching to some 34m by 10m  this must be one of the largest wedding venues around.

Not only is it one of the largest but it  must be one  of if not the oldest timber framed barns in the country with the three Western most bays understood to date back to the 1oth century when it was first erected along with the adjoining chapel (now the church) and Manor House (now the Hall). The remaining 5 bays with their joweled arcade posts are modern in comparisson only dating back to the 13th century.

With its size their is no need to  rearrange tables and chairs during the day and guests can return to their dinner table and seating at any time.

Lighting is highly adaptable and every light is indiviually switched.

Heating is via a thermostatically controlled external space heater and with its fully insulated roof and walls it can be easily kept at a comfortable temperature (providing the doors are not left open!)

Seating for the meal is highly adaptable and 60 guests do not feel lost whislt 200 can be easily accommodated on either 5'6" round tables or 6'0" x 2'6" rectangular tables.

Decoration is up to the guest, we merely provide the canvas, you provide the painting, but we have a good selection of bunting and props that may be of use.
